Eliot Sumner #3 - I Followed You Back Home

It's not unusual for me to attend gigs purely for the support acts and I'm always willing to give bands I've not come across a try if it fits in with my timings (I've also been known to regret the choice in a matter of minutes) but I'm always glad when an artist I like is added to a gig I already have tickets for, that's happening next week when Lykke Li is joined by Eliot Sumner at Hammersmith Apollo.

Having already released one of my favourite tracks and EP's of the year (Information) Eliot has wasted no time in releasing a new track, "I Followed You Back Home", which will be available as a free download via eliotsumner.com imminently. It's the closest thing to "Information" yet and thus I completely love it and here find myself compelled to blog about it after a handful of listens.

Continuing Eliot's exploration of darker themes with edgy, ill-at-ease mood befitting of the stalking intent of the lyrics where a shimmeing, melodramatic melody races alongside the family's trademark vocal husk before signing off on a high with a huge, euphoric conclusion. Dazzling.
