Jade Hopcroft #2 - Heart Is Black


I cannot believe it was almost two and a half years ago when I wrote about London's Jade Hopcroft here, she returns bigger, bolder and more direct than ever with "Heart Is Black", a track which sees Jade shift away from her early acoustic roots and firmly into dark, emotive pop territory.  It's the perfect move for her powerhouse vocal to shine.

Rising from its slow, brooding introduction, it doesn't take long for Jade to command your attention, her rich, flawless voice effortlessly controls the flow of the track amongst pulsating synths that simmer on edge before exploding during the songs soaring, anthemic chorus. Completely moreish. I think that's the definition of a tune...
