After seeing Pins blast their way through a set of almost entirely new material at the Sebright Arms last week I knew this announcement wasn't too far away, yesterday we got it, the return of the Manchester quartet (although they've expanded their live set with the addition of keys) with "Too Little Too Late", the first track taken from their second LP Wild Nights due June 8 via Bella Union.
The tracks a belter too, of course it is, those aforementioned synths lines apparent amongst a slowly unwinding beast, entwining bold drums and nonchalant guitar fuzz with Faith's ever piercing, scornful vocal ("I forgot to say Happy Birthday, I hope I didn't spoil your party") before culminating in a frenetic whirlwind of squealing noise. Aye, it's great.
"Too Little Too Late" will also be available as a 7" on March 30th - pre-order. There's a whole host of live UK dates supporting Sleater-Kinney and Drenge culminating in a album release show at London's Lexington on 27th May - tickets.
