Lisa Alma is finally getting the recognition her talent deserves with recent exposure in blogs far greater than this, one of my Tips for 2015 and favourite discoveries of 2014 has shared an alternate, album version of "Fine" (her second album Sweater follows via Dumont Dumont on April 21st - final a month later).
The track, one I first featured here back in October last year returns more breathy and luxurious than ever with Lisa's magnetic vocals pulling you deep within its slow motion melody, the soft pitter-patter of electronic pads, the exotic yet restrained beats and the show-stopping harmonies, it makes for the most seductive, soulful experience. There's some new breaks here which bring those earlier Prince comparisons to the fore, as a die-hard fan it's not something I say lightly but Lisa Alma's output far surpasses any ballad we've heard from the purple one in recent time, simply to die for.
The album Sweater is available to pre-order here in the UK on vinyl via Rough Trade. I'll let you find your usual digital outlet.
