Lisa Alma #6 - Lovesick

Facebook

In similar circumstances to Be Forest whom I wrote about earlier this week, Lisa Alma is an artist I’ve waxed lyrical about on these pages multiple times but have recently ‘forgot’ about to a degree. I’m hopeful the changes I’m making in terms of my inbox will bring an increase in actual listening hours so such mistakes won’t keep happening (the ‘new’ approach has been slightly delayed because I’ve been ill all week), especially when I belatedly press play once again and immediately fall back in love...

The track in question is “Lovesick”, the first taken from Lisa Alma’s new album Thigh (released April 29th and available to pre-order through bandcamp). It’s the combination of everything that’s playing through my ears that works its magic, the twinkling neon-lit 80’s melody and the infectious yet silky smooth pop choruses that combine effortlessly with Lisa’s rich, smouldering vocal, it’s completely irresistible. “Lovesick” intoxicates throughout, pulling at your heartstrings with its gentle spirit yet simultaneously bringing a desire to boogie, you really can’t ask for more than that within three and a half minutes…

I’ve had a sneak preview of a new track called “Golden Light” and it’s absolutely gorgeous.
