Thingamajig is a different beast to what Miya Folick had become, where roaring, grunge-laden guitars filled with bite and direct aggression make way for a heart-on-the-sleeve apology to whomever it is targeted.
The plaintive piano led live rendition is perhaps even better than the recorded version which itself beguiles, Miya’s delivery is perfect. It oozes emotions and sincerity and is the sort of track to soundtrack a melancholic evening filled with self regret and armed with a strong drink or two.
I’m going to steal a comment from youtube, “Raven Girl 22” has summed this up better than me;
‘Wonderful song, damn i can say that this is a masterpiece.. the lyrics, the instruments, the voice and the emotions... everything is here, thanks’
