I’ve been following Wilsen for quite a while now, perhaps too much one May when I saw the band perform four times in four days, a band confident in their ability to hold your attention with a potent combination of thoughtful textures and beguiling melody.
The exquisite Dusk from 2013’s Sirens is their song which shines brightest, a deliciously sad and unbelievably gorgeous track where Tasmin Wilson's ethereal whispers are soft and comforting amongst the gentle ebbing of restrained instrumentation.
Forever radiant and haunting, Wilsen combine heartfelt vocals and shattered emotions to perfect effect. A new track Rainer released this week from a third album to be released in 2020 hints at a more expansive and bold sound. Perhaps even a return to the UK too?
