There’s probably not too many blogs who’ll have a track by Sting’s daughter amongst the decade’s finest, but I don’t give a shit about that. Information by Eliot Sumner is an absolute beast and one that I still listen to frequently.
It keeps on giving throughout its seven minute duration, a track that is dark, clever, soaring and addictive. A surging drum march drives the synth-and-strings track forward as shimmering guitars duel with korg keys, it's Toy-esque both in terms of its dense, extended Motorik rhythms and progressive, glistening melody. Eliot’s raspy vocal (you can certainly tell who her dad is) perfect throughout.
There’s not been a release since the album came out almost four years ago, that’s shame but we’re left with a complete record that deserves more recognition that the music press chose to give it. Perhaps because it’s not cool? Fuck that attitude.
