Parakeet #2 - Paper, Scissors, Stone

A couple of months back I introduced Parakeet, a side project of Mariko from Yuck and James from The History of Apple Pie and their uncomprimising debut track "Tomorrow", snarling vocals, thudding bass and crashing beats made for a distortion drenched noise fest on a highly promisingly debut.

Parakeet have now treated us to the b-side for the release, "Paper, Scissors, Stone" and it's even better. A psychedelic beauty that takes it's fuzzed-up roots and turns them on their head, with hazy vocals and laid-back melodies it's hypnotic and gorgeous before the distorted guitar finally simmers over at the songs conclusion.

'Tomorrow' is limited to 300 copies and available direct from the band now - order here.
