Martha Ffion #2 - So Long

Glasgow based Martha Ffion takes a turn towards the 1960’s on the irresistible “So Long”, full of classic pop sheen and lush, wistful melody that is carried by perfectly placed jangle guitar and her clear, strong vocals.

The result is four minutes of perfect, sweetening pop that strikes a balance between nostalgia and real feelings. Recently signed to Turnstile Music, expect more music soon.

Martha Ffion - No Applause

Lost Map came onto my radar with their Tuff Love/Lazy Day 7" split last month, their latest release, a PostMap collectible postcard singles club, sees Glasgow based artist Martha Ffion contribute two tracks, the first of which, the retro charm of "No Applause" immediately warms the cockles.

The track, a glorious slice of fuzz-pop combines infectious girl-group vocals with grungy guitars and  sprightly drum rhythms, there's even time for a guitar solo half-way through which is always a winner. the lyrics take a slightly darker turn but as Martha  channels the spirit of ’60s pop you can't help but tap your feet along in agreement. Delicious.
