Molly Burch #4 - Please Be Mine

Posts here are getting rarer and rarer so I must apologise, there's a hundred and one reasons that I won't bore you with... There's two albums of 2017 so far that I completely love, one is Courtney Marie Andrews' wonderful Honest Life and the other is Please Be Mine by Molly Burch, whom I fell in love with in the middle of last year.

Unbelievably her best song (in my opinion) "I Adore You" doesn't make the cut but over ten songs Please Be Mine transports you to a sensual wonderful filled with Molly's sultry, hazy vocal and slowly waltzing balladry, swoonsome is the best word I can think of.

Molly plays London's Sebright Arms on June 1st, I shall definietly not be missing it.

Molly Burch #3 - Try

I doubt I'll do a 'tips for 2017' (I've really not been active enough this year to have a real handle on acts that are genuinely exciting me). If I were to do one, I can safely say Molly Burch would have been included, the heavenly "I Adore You" is probably my favourite track of the year (that or "Baby Love" by Petite Meller but that's arguably a 2015 release)...

"Try", the latest track to be taken from her debut full length album Please Be Mine out Feb 17 on Captured Tracks (and available on LP (w/ limited special edition pink here) sums up my attraction perfectly, a sumptous blend of effortless and endearing beauty which pares Molly's swoonsome vocals with rolling drums and playful guitars.

Molly Burch #2 - I Adore You

I could tell after about three notes that I was going to adore this, "I Adore You" by Molly Burch, the flip side to her debut 7" Downhearted (that I blogged about here last month).

"I Adore You" is smouldering seduction of the highest order, a real pull-at-the-heartstrings beauty filled with languid instrumentation, little more than pared down percussion and twanging guitars and Molly's voice, a overwhelmingly irresistible croon that stays with you long after it's six minute duration, utterly timeless is this. Consider me lovesick.

Molly Burch - Downhearted

Molly Burch is a new signing to the reliable Captured Tracks and comes my way with her first release "Downhearted", a track which instantly recalls label-mates Widowspeak's shadowy guitars and vintage atmosphere.

"Downhearted" is wistful and playful at the same time, filled with a dusty, Angel Olsen-esque vocal full of soul and heartache and echoey, wandering guitarscapes. The single is released September 16th and I'm already waiting for more.
